- I just purchased the new Spyder MR3 marker. I'm having trouble finding a quality barrel that fits on this marker. Does Lapco make one that works?
Yes. We specially modified one of our spyder threaded one-piece barrels to fit on the MR1 MR2, and MR3. It has the bead blasted look so it matches great.

What is LAPCO Tru-Bore™ Technology? LAPCO has been refining the barrel making process for 22 years. We started in 1987 with the same raw materials as our competitors and began development of our superior honing technique. By 1990 we had fully developed our technique which utilized a unique 3 step hone (by "step" we mean a controlled 3 Diameter Taper for gentle release of the ball). In 1996 we started development of our gun-drilling process in order to make Stainless Steel barrels. After we could not get the quality or quantity of gun-drilled material that we needed, we brought gun drilling "in house". As we refined the gun drilling process, we found that by controlling the process we could get a far better finish and much closer size control than was available from our prior vendors. This allowed us to remove less material in honing resulting in improved concentricity and the even better LAPCO finish you know today. At this time, we found that with the proper porting, muzzle design, and improved finish we could get even better accuracy with a straight honed barrel. Please keep in mind that during this time we went through all the experiments with "barrel shaped", tapered, reverse tapered, and stepped honing. We found that the key for accuracy was the roundness of the bore as well as cylindricity. All the key components of precision finish, size, roundness, cylindricity, and concentricity affect the flight path of a paintball. These attributes do not just have a direct effect on the paintball itself; they also affect air flow during firing, which then affects the ball. There are many other "little" details like balancing porting pressure and bead blasting a barrel without marring the internal finish, that are the keys to the accuracy that you see from LAPCO. They are all part of our barrel manufacturing process. LAPCO continues to experiment and refine barrel technology in our Valencia, California factory in order maintain our place as the industry leader. LAPCO has the highest manufacturing standards of any barrel company. That is how we can consistently produce the best barrels in the industry for the last 22 years.
